The Rehabilitation Sciences Institute (RSI) at the University of Toronto is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as Director, beginning July 1, 2026. This is a unique opportunity to guide one of the world’s top-ranked rehabilitation science programs and advance interdisciplinary research and graduate education within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine.

About RSI:

RSI is the doctoral-stream arm of the Rehabilitation Sciences Sector, encompassing the Departments of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology. With over 100 faculty members and partnerships across the Toronto Academic Health Sciences Network (TAHSN), RSI fosters research excellence in areas such as movement science, rehabilitation technology, health services research, and more.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current academic appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank in the Temerty Faculty of Medicine
  • PhD in rehabilitation science or related field
  • Proven record of excellence in research, education, and collaborative leadership
  • Vision for innovative, interdisciplinary research and student-centered graduate education
  • Commitment to equity and social accountability in teaching, mentorship, and research

The Director will lead strategic priorities, build partnerships locally and internationally, and champion graduate education and research that shape the future of rehabilitation science.
