Rehabilitation Sciences Sector

The Rehabilitation Sciences Institute is part of both the Temerty Faculty of Medicine and the School of Graduate Studies at the University of Toronto.

Within the Temerty Faculty of Medicine (TFOM), which is our budgetary home, RSI is part of the Graduate Life Sciences Education Division (GLSE). It is one of the four graduate departments that make up the Rehabilitation Sciences Sector (RSS). The other three departments are the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, the Department of Speech-Language Pathology, and the Department of Physical Therapy. RSI provides research-stream MSc and PhD programs, while the other three departments offer programs that prepare students for clinical practice.

As a graduate program, RSI is also part of the School of Graduate Studies (SGS). The mandate of SGS is to oversee the quality of graduate education and research and to ensure consistency and high standards across the graduate programs at U of T. Within SGS, RSI is a member of Division 4 (Life Sciences).
