Dr. William Panenka, MSc, MD, FPRCPC Neurology, FRCPC Psychiatry
Dr. Panenka is a dually certified psychiatrist and neurologist and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of British Columbia. He is the research lead of the British Columbia (BC) Provincial Neuropsychiatry program and a researcher with the BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services Institute and the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health. His research program focuses on mental health, addictions, and traumatic brain injury in multiple populations ranging from athletes to the homeless.
Dr. Jacob L. Stubbs, PhD, MD (candidate)
This speaker series is supported by a Canada Research Chair in Traumatic Brain Injury in Underserved Populations and the Ontario Brain Institute Dr. Stubbs is currently a medical student at the University of British Columbia and has completed his PhD at the University of British Columbia. His thesis work included the first meta-analysis on the prevalence of traumatic brain injury among individuals living with homelessness and used longitudinal neuroimaging to evaluate how the health of people who are homeless is affected by brain injury over time.
