Dr. Dina Brooks is a Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences. nstitute at the University of Toronto and Vice Dean and Executive Director (School of Rehabilitation Sciences), McMaster University. She is recognized internationally as a leader in cardiorespiratory rehabilitation and held a Canada Research Chair in Rehabilitation and COPD. In the last 5 years, she has held grants from Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR) and other organizations as principal investigator totaling over $3.5 million dollars and published over 125 peer reviewed publications (with almost 300 lifetime peer reviewed publications). She has trained numerous interdisciplinary health science graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. She has received many honors, including a Queen’s Jubilee Medal for the impact of her research on the lives of individuals with lung disease, a Fellowship in the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences the highest honor that recognizes international leadership, academic performance and scientific creativity and the Enid Graham Award, the highest honor in Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
