Celebrating Excellence: RSI Faculty Recognized with Graduate Teaching Awards

The Rehabilitation Sciences Institute (RSI) is proud to celebrate two of its esteemed faculty members, Dr. Monika Molnar and Dr. Nancy Salbach, who have been recognized with Temerty Faculty of Medicine Graduate Faculty Teaching Awards for their outstanding contributions to graduate education.

Each year, these prestigious awards honor faculty members who demonstrate excellence in teaching and mentorship across multiple domains, including subject mastery, communication, and commitment to student success.

Dr. Molnar, a professor in the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and principal investigator of the Bilingual and Multilingual Development Lab, was awarded the Early Career Excellence in Graduate Teaching and Mentorship Award. Her research focuses on how bilingual and multilingual individuals acquire and process language, with a particular emphasis on early childhood development. Through her innovative teaching and mentorship, she has inspired graduate students to explore the complexities of speech and language development while fostering an inclusive and dynamic learning environment.

Dr. Salbach, a professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and RSI, received the Sustained Excellence in Graduate Teaching and Mentorship Award. Her research is dedicated to improving stroke rehabilitation and mobility outcomes, particularly through knowledge translation and evidence-based interventions. As a mentor and educator, Dr. Salbach has played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of rehabilitation scientists, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to drive impactful change in the field.

These awards highlight RSI’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and mentorship in graduate education. The recognition of Dr. Molnar and Dr. Salbach underscores the vital role RSI faculty play in fostering a rigorous and supportive research environment that empowers students to excel.
