Prospective Student Funding

funding

The University of Toronto requires that all new and continuing MSc and PhD (research) students receive an annual student stipend. A “stipend” refers to the funds a student receives during the program funding commitment period. The student stipend can be derived from external scholarships, supervisor stipends and departmental/internal awards. Please see RSI Student Funding Policy for details. The policy is subject to change annually.

When preparing to begin your RSI studies, we encourage incoming students to apply for external awards. You can apply for many of these opportunities even before receiving your offer of admission to RSI or starting your program.

Several award opportunities for incoming RSI students are shared below. For more information about specific awards, including RSI deadlines and application process details, please contact: rss.rsistudents@utoronto.ca
